Internship
Sonicon Construction is looking for passionate and motivated Civil Engineering students or fresh graduates to join our team as Engineering Interns. This internship offers hands-on exposure to real-world construction and infrastructure projects, focusing on structural assessments, site operations, and project coordination.
You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and site professionals, gaining valuable insights into Malaysia’s construction and rectification industry — including exposure to cutting-edge technologies like Xradar scanning, robotic demolition, and precision concrete works.
- Support and Coordination
- Assist Project Engineers in daily site operations, progress monitoring, and quality checks.
- Participate in site inspections and safety briefings.
- Prepare daily site reports and photo documentation.
- Technical and Documentation Support
- Support the preparation of method statements, drawings, and technical reports.
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications under supervision.
- Assist in collecting and analyzing site data for reporting purposes.
- Quality and Safety
- Monitor worksite safety practices in compliance with CIDB and company standards.
- Report any safety or quality issues promptly to the project supervisor.
- Cross-Department Collaboration
- Work with technical, commercial, and operations teams to ensure smooth project flow.
- Participate in project meetings and assist with documentation and coordination.
- Learning & Development
- Gain exposure to Sonicon’s specialized services including structural scanning, rectification, and refurbishment. Learn practical engineering applications through mentorship and on-site experience.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
- Proactive, reliable, and a good communicator.
- Comfortable working in both office and site environments.
- Team-oriented and adaptable to dynamic project needs.
- Pursuing or recently completed a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Technical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of civil/construction principles.
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Familiar with Microsoft Office and basic AutoCAD.
- Understanding of site safety practices (CIDB awareness preferred).

Technician
As a Technician, you are responsible for installation, machine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment. The role involves practical hands-on work and ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance with standards.
- To maintain all machinery and repair or arrange for repairs as necessary
- To track stock levels of consumables / spare parts / materials in store and regularly conduct stock counts to ensure accurate stock counts
- To load / unload required goods and deliver when required
- To request purchases of consumables as required
- To manage the maintenance of all company vehicles, including repairs, tyre change etc
- Ensure store always in clean condition and stocks in proper arrangement
- Employees are required to efficiently transport and retrieve items from the work site
- Applicants must possess a vehicle license or GDL License
- Any other duties as assigned by the Operation Manager.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving ability under pressure
- Able to read and understand machines and technical specs
- Comfortable working on-site, managing multiple moving parts
- Strong verbal and written communication to coordinate with internal and external parties
- Proactive, with attention to detail and a hands-on attitude
- Education: Diploma or technical certificate in relevant field (Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Automotive, Industrial etc.)
- Experience: 1–3 years of relevant hands-on experience (entry-level roles may accept fresh diploma holders)
- Fluent in BM communication skills
- Have fluent English communication skill will be an added advantage
- Industry Knowledge (Optional): Familiarity with construction or engineering is a plus
Technician
