What is CFRP?
Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) is a composite material made of high-strength carbon fibers bonded with a polymer resin. Originally popularised in aerospace and automotive industries for its strength-to-weight ratio, CFRP has now become one of the most effective solutions for structural strengthening in construction.
Applied as sheets, wraps, or strips, CFRP can be bonded to concrete, steel, or timber structures, providing additional capacity without adding significant weight or thickness.
How CFRP Strengthening Works
When bonded to a structural element such as slab, beam, or column, CFRP takes on part of the load, effectively increasing the strength, stiffness, and durability of the member.
