The Challenge
A commercial office building at Selangor needed to install new windows along its staircase wall to improve lighting and airflow. The project involved creating 16 separate wall openings, each 1m² in size, through 330mm thick reinforced concrete. The walls contained vertical reinforcement bars, making cutting more challenging and time-consuming. Additionally, the job had to be carried out without causing disruption to the daily operations of office tenants within the building.
Our Approach & Result
We used our diamond wall saw to perform clean, vibration-free cuts with minimal dust and noise, making it ideal for operational environments. After each opening, the site was thoroughly cleaned to maintain a tidy and safe environment throughout the process. The client was able to carry out their window installations immediately after our work was completed, with no disturbance to ongoing office activities.
For a staircase upgrade project at a commercial building in Selangor, we were tasked with executing 16 wall openings to support new window installations. Each opening required cutting through 330mm thick reinforced concrete, with vertical rebars embedded across the wall section.
To minimize disturbance to the building’s tenants, we selected our diamond wall saw, an ideal tool for live environments thanks to its vibration-free operation, reduced noise, and minimal dust output.
Despite the challenges posed by thick reinforcement, the job was done efficiently without affecting any of the offices inside the building. Post-cutting, our team also handled site cleaning, keeping the staircase area neat and free of debris.
We resulted in a fast, clean, and reliable solution for structural modification in an active commercial setting.
