The Challenge

Jaya One, a mixed-use development, required surface preparation works in its driveway to allow for the installation of a new waterproofing system. The existing surface is uneven, so it needs milling for a levelled surface to ensure proper adhesion and long-term performance of the waterproofing layer. With over 1,800m² of floor area to address, the works had to be completed quickly to minimise disruption to the building’s operations as there were restaurants and cafes around the area.

Our Approach & Result

We carried out precision milling with SGi Tech’s Parana Milling machine at a depth of 5mm across over 1,800m² of the driveway surface. This process removed the top layer cleanly and evenly, creating an ideal surface profile for the waterproofing system to bond effectively. The project was completed in less than 2 weeks, ahead of schedule and without causing major disruption to tenants or visitors.

When a surface needs to be waterproofed, proper preparation is essential to ensure the coating performs well and lasts. Jaya One’s driveway required a clean, level profile ready for waterproofing application.

We used SGi Tech’s Parana Milling to mill the over 1,800m² surface at a depth of 5mm, removing imperfections and creating the right serrated texture for optimal bonding. The method allowed us to finish the project in under 2 weeks while keeping the surrounding areas clean and operational.

With the surface now precisely profiled, the site was ready for the next phase of applying a waterproofing layer that will protect the structure and extend its service life.
