The Challenge
The project focused on precision cutting for an offshore intake cooling water culvert that required structural modification to accommodate additional piping. The work involved cutting a 300mm-thick concrete structure located at a depth of 10–15 meters underwater with unpredictable underwater conditions.
The plant was already operational, demanding vibration-free cutting to avoid compromising the structural integrity of the existing system. The given timeline was very short, driven by high LAD penalties for delays.
Our Approach & Result
A detailed preparation, including 1.5 years of training and planning to perfect underwater cutting techniques and safety protocols.
Each anchor point was calculated to ensure stability and precision during cutting. Using advanced diamond wire cutting technology and a systematic approach, the team achieved a clean cut while minimizing environmental impact and ensuring the integrity of the existing structures. The project was completed ahead of schedule by 10 days.

Earlier this year, a client approached for an underwater concrete cutting project in Melaka, with a demanding completion timeline of just 10 days with extremely high LAD cost.
