Sonicon Construction was proud to participate in Experts Network in Technology, Innovation and Cooperative Event (ENTICE) 2025, organised by the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT). This landmark event brought together thought leaders, engineers, and innovators to explore how emerging technologies are transforming Malaysia’s built environment.
As a representative of the construction sector, Sonicon took the opportunity to introduce Xradar™ enhanced concrete scanning technology, a fully non-destructive testing (NDT) method for structural assessment and investigation. With construction and refurbishment works becoming more complex and safety-sensitive, advanced scanning methods are critical for reducing risk and improving accuracy.
Sonicon is currently the only certified provider of Xradar™ in Asia, which gave us a unique platform to highlight how this enhanced concrete scanning technology is setting new benchmarks in structural investigation. Unlike conventional Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), Xradar™ offers double the accuracy and clarity, significantly reducing false positives. It enables engineers to confidently locate rebars, post-tension cables, conduits, voids, and other embedded features before any drilling, coring, or cutting takes place.
Throughout the exhibition, we had the opportunity to connect with professionals from multiple fields, from civil and mechanical engineers to technologists, educators, and innovators. Many shared their curiosity and challenges in structural assessment, from avoiding reinforcement strikes to ensuring safety in refurbishment and infrastructure maintenance.
ENTICE 2025 was more than just a gathering of experts—it was a showcase of how technology like concrete scanning technology can directly improve safety, reduce waste, and support sustainable construction methods.
We are proud to be part of that journey, bringing forward technologies like Xradar™, which make construction not only stronger, but smarter.
