The Challenge

In 2017, Sonicon was honored to be appointed as the Controlled Demolition Specialist for Ikano Damansara project. We were assigned for a major refurbishment project that involve a high level of precision, control and safety works.

Our Approach

Our goal was to ensure the work can be done with the minimal noise and risk of work on sensitive areas without affecting the mall operation since the mall was not entirely closed. Therefore, diamond wire sawing method was used to remove the slab.

The Result

The project involves a redesign of its structure by removing 600mm thick slab for the installation of a travellator, removing of a concrete ramp, demolition of a concrete wall and staircase etc. The project was done mostly during nighttime.

Sonicon was proud to be given the Safety Award Certificate for the project in recognition of its Best Safety Practices.
